Since my last email on August 7, 2020, the hybrid reopening structure has been refined to the point we can share the framework with you. Please note the information you are being provided today will be part of the District’s reopening presentation that will be sent to you on the 18th of August and discussed in the BoE Town Hall on August 19th. Throughout the reopening planning process the safety of students and staff has been our overarching priority. After vetting numerous options, we are confident the structure outlined in the document represents the District's commitment to safety while providing an equitable and sustainable education for students.
The document provides you an overview of the sequence of when and how students return to in-person schooling. Once the hybrid schedule is fully phased in, all students in grades 1 through 12 will receive instruction in-person on two days a week and will remote into classes on two days a week. Kindergarten students will receive in-person teaching four days a week. After the first week, each Wednesday will be devoted to online learning, most of which will be asynchronous. We are currently completing the color-cohort of students and are making every attempt to ensure siblings are in the same color-cohort to the best of our ability.
