Dear BPS Faculty,

The Roberto Benigni movie "Life is Beautiful" comes to mind when I think of how important you are to our children and to our community. For the time you spend in their lives, whether on a screen or in person, you are their world. You and the work that you do are their lifeline to what is possible in a world that could easily seem completely unfathomable. The learning that you provide by simply being there for them is invaluable; it goes far beyond subject matter content into the realm of facing and overcoming real-life adversity.

Superintendent Hernandez and building leaders have demonstrated what leadership is all about. With uncertainty swirling about us, we learned that having a plan, making the tough decisions, and sticking to them can translate to the health, safety and well-being of our school community.

Creating a safe and healthy learning environment would be next to impossible without the critical work that you do. Thank you!

On behalf of the Board of Education, we are deeply grateful for all that you do so well. We are proud to be associated with you and wish you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday. We look forward to a time when we can look back on this experience and identify and celebrate how we have grown and sustained each other through the adversity of a global pandemic.

 Warm wishes,

 John Prins
