Dear JBS Families,
We are happy to welcome two new staff members to our Sliney family! Mr. Luis Castro and Mr. Nickolas Hernandez are the new security guards at our school. They are excited to work with our students and staff in this new role!
We are also excited to share that we had our first school-wide assembly today! Our 4th Grade Student Council members taught everyone what it means to be STARS at Sliney. We watched a slide-show presentation of all the great learning that has been taking place since the start of the school year. In honor of Fire Prevention Month and First Responders' Day, the Branford Fire Department visited our school today as well!
A HUGE THANK YOU to the JBS PTA for your continued support and for planning the fun Fall events and activities this year. From the Fall Festival, to the Running Club and the PTA Trunk-O-Treat, we have had so many fun opportunities to enjoy being together as a school-wide community. It's also been great to have our Room Parents and parent volunteers be in our building to do fun activities with students such as crafts and reading activities. THANK YOU!
Next month, we will be hosting Parent Teacher Conferences on November 7th and November 17th! Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to sign-up for a conference if you haven't already done so. We look forward to meeting with you!
On October 31st, we will be having our first Character Dress Up Day for the school year. This is a very exciting opportunity for all of us to encourage and celebrate our love for reading and create special memories at Sliney. Please make sure that your child is able to get in and out of their costume and have your child wear sneakers for PE, recess, etc… Please do not have your child bring a mask or other items to school.
