Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Walsh Mathematics Department is excited to offer various summer learning opportunities to maintain core skills and foundational understandings that were introduced over the past school year. Research shows that students who continue math activities during summer months will retain 25% more material as compared to students who do not engage in math learning activities throughout the summer.
Summer Math Enrichment
All students are encouraged to utilize Khan Academy and Greg Tang Gameboards to explore key concepts found here for the course in which they will be entering in the fall. The activities found on the key concept list will support both computational and problem-solving skills.

Connecticut Math Challenge
The 2022 Commissioner's Summer Math Challenge stresses the importance of maintaining math skills during the summer. Schools compete based on student population and grade level. The program identifies the schools with the highest percentage of participating enrollment and the highest number of badges earned by participating students.
