Dear JBS Families,
Over the course of the past several weeks, all of our students have been engaging in different learning activities to help them get settled into the daily school routines such as our "morning meeting." During this class activity, students gather together to interact with one another and to "kick-off" their day on a positive note. This model includes a greeting, sharing, activity and a morning message. We have found that these meetings help to build our class community while ensuring that each child feels heard, valued and respected.
This year, our school-wide theme is "We Stand Tall and Reach for the Stars." During our morning announcements, we state the following " Sliney Pledge" as a reminder to all of our staff and students.
S - Sliney Staff and Students
T - Treat Everyone with Kindness
A - Achieve Goals
R - Respect Each Other
S - Strive to Be Our Best
Over the course of the school year, we will be sending home different family activities that are connected to our Sliney Pledge and monthly themes that we will learn about as a school-wide community. This month, we will be focused on our Sliney Pledge and Hopes and Dreams for the 2022-2023 school year.
As always, thank you all for your continued support in your child's educational experience at Sliney!
Warm regards, Maria Clark, Principal
