Weekly Schedule


2024 CONNECTICUT SAT TO ALL JUNIORS 

REVISED SCHEDULE FOR ALL

On March 21, 2024, all juniors will take the Connecticut SAT. To create an optimal testing environment where juniors can produce their best work, there will be a revised schedule for Branford High School on March 21st to administer the Connecticut SAT to all juniors. All juniors will report to school at the normal time (doors open at 7:00 am, first bell at 7:25 am) while all other students will begin school at 10:25 am.

Normal bus runs will pick up juniors only at their normally scheduled time. A special bus run will pick up all other students 2 ½ to 3 hours later than their usual time for a 10:25 start time.

All four periods (5-8) that are scheduled for Thursday will take place beginning at 10:25 am. Lunch will be served with 2 lunch waves only.


Congratulations to the following students, their artwork has been accepted into Shoreline Arts Alliance’s 40th Anniversary Future Choices Visual Art Exhibition for high school students.

This means their artwork will be displayed at the Sill House Gallery at Lyme Academy of Art from March 2nd - March 28th. Gallery hours are Wednesdays & Thursdays from 3 - 6 pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 12 pm – 4 pm. Awards Reception: Saturday, March 23, 2024, 9 am - 12 pm.

BHS Teacher Conferences Change of Date

Due to the needed adjustment to the district calendar that resulted in students and staff having Friday, March 29 off, Branford High School will move evening teacher conferences from Thursday, March 28th to Wednesday, March 27th. Please continue to follow the procedure below to sign up for a conference or make an adjustment to an existing conference. As always, please email the teacher if their schedule is full or if you need a more timely conversation.

BHS Family-Teacher Conference Information:

  • Reminder, Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, March 12th, and Wednesday, March 27th from 6:00-8:00 pm.

  • BHS Family-Teacher Conference sign-ups for Branford High School will again be completed online.  The system will accept reservations for conferences beginning Tuesday, February 27th at 10 am.

  • The portal closes at 10 am on the morning of the conference date.

  • BHS families will have the option to attend conferences in person or virtually.

How to sign up and schedule your conferences:

  • Schedule your conferences by going to the link under Parent & Student Resources on the BHS webpage.

  • The master password is gobhs. If you are a first-time user you will need to create a username and password. If you are a returning user, log in using your credentials.  You will have the option to indicate if you will be attending virtually or in person.  When this process is complete, you will have access to schedule your parent-teacher conferences.  

  • A room number and Google Meet link will appear on your conference schedule. 

  • If you change your mind about attending virtually or in person, please email the teacher directly to let them know.

If a teacher's schedule is filled, please email the teacher directly to set up a conference alternative.

If you do not have access to the internet please contact your guidance counselor directly to schedule your parent-teacher conference.  If you need more detailed instructions or encounter any problems making a reservation please email: bhsvirtualparagonsupport@branfordschools.org

Food Advisory Committee updates (February 22, 2024 meeting)

Here is the latest news from the BPS Food Advisory Committee:

  • Compliance with USDA guidelines remains a priority, ensuring every meal meets federal standards.

  • Efforts to minimize unconsumed food and support the community are underway. Unconsumed food from WIS and BHS is redirected to the community dining room.

  • Education plays a vital role, with initiatives to educate students on the importance of USDA approval through signage, emails, and incentives like extra recess. Advisors from various schools are driving awareness efforts, ensuring each school community is informed and engaged.

  • A pilot program is underway at Tisko aimed at reducing waste, with training sessions for students on sorting food waste. 

  • Feedback from students was given regarding menu items highlights the importance of balancing student preferences with nutritional guidelines, ensuring a satisfactory dining experience for all.
